Hi! I’m Jacob Rothemund, and I’ve started this blog as I wanted a more permanent way to give back to the data visualisation community, who have played a huge part in helping me get to where I am in my career to date. I have been working with data since late 2007 when a junior data role landed in my lap at my first place of employment post-education (I studied Network Engineering). In the years since, I automated and created reporting suites and dashboards initially within Microsoft Excel, and then progressed into the world of Tableau from around 2013/14, while also picking up a couple of years experience within Power BI along the way.

My initial plans with this blog is to break down some of my Tableau Public visualisations – but apart from that, who knows?!

Personally, when I’m not working and spending some of my free time learning and working on personal data projects, you’ll find me hanging out with my family (it never stops with kids!), playing video games (…many, many hours of Apex Legends with the squad…), and playing guitar where I recently added a 7-string to my arsenal!
